How does the Mirrorvana Fogless Shower Mirror’s anti-fog feature work?

This Mirrorvana Fogless Shower Mirror uses the heat transfer principle. By filling the mirror’s back reservoir with very warm water, heat is transferred to the mirror surface thus preventing it from fogging up.
And now, we’ve improved this new model further by pre-treating the mirror with an anti-fog coating.

Is the mirror’s anti-fog coating permanent?

No, the anti-fog coating is not permanent. When it wears off, re-spray the mirror with the included anti-fog spray so that you can enjoy the mirror for many years to come.

Is there a way to prolong the effectiveness of the anti-fog coating?

We recommend installing the mirror away from your showerhead or direct streams of water. Wiping the mirror unnecessarily will also prematurely deplete the coating.

What surfaces does the suction mechanism work on?

The mirror suctions best to DRY, CLEAN and NON-TEXTURED FLAT surfaces like windows, or glass mirrors. Other NON-POROUS surfaces like granite tiles or marbles usually work flawlessly as well.

How do I fill up and empty the back water reservoir?

You can use your shower head or a filling cup when putting warm water in the back reservoir before you shower. No need to detach the mirror from your bathroom surface.

How do I empty the back water reservoir?

After the water inside the reservoir cools, you can just rotate the mirror 180 degrees to empty the reservoir.

 Troubleshooting

My mirror keeps falling off, what should I do?

First confirm whether the suction mechanism is working properly by following our installation instructions and by testing it against a window or another glass mirror surface. If the mirror suctions properly to other flat surfaces but not to your desired spot/wall/tile or if the suction is defective, please email us at support@mirrorvana.com and we will be more than happy to offer a full refund or a free replacement.

Why does my reflection appear wider/ narrower than normal?

For safety reasons, this mirror was made with 100% plastic. Plastic mirrors result in a slightly different reflected image compared to normal glass mirrors. Our shower mirrors also have a concave design which, depending on your viewing angle, may result in a slightly shorter or taller, or wider or narrower reflection. Please be assured that all of this is completely normal and your mirror is not defective.

What can I do so that my image will not appear distorted?

We recommend using the mirror up close instead of from a far distance. Distortion is more serious when used from further away than up close. As mentioned above, between using real glass and plastic, we chose plastic so it won’t shatter in case it’s dropped in the shower. The tradeoff is the reflection may appear slightly distorted.

I’ve filled up the back water reservoir with water but the mirror is still fogging up. What do I do?

The temperature of the water you put in is important. It has to be very warm. The way it works is that the warm water inside the reservoir transfers heat to the mirror's surface. Heated surfaces do not accumulate fog.
